PASTOR DAVID ELLIS

On the morning of January 3, 1993 the Lord had a talk with Pastor David Ellis and gave him an assignment. That assignment was “David lead my children out of bondage”. The words of Habakkuk followed. (Habakkuk 2:1-4) Habakkuk 2: 1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see that he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the Lord answer me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: Though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. 4 Behold, his soul which is lifted is not upright in him: But the Just shall live by his faith.     

The result of Pastor Ellis’ vision, led by the spirit of GOD, established Freewill. A disciplined church for the preaching and teaching of God’s word from the holy scripture. The administration of the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s supper, to heal the broken hearted, and to set free those who are bound and bruised from the disease and penalty of sin. Thank God we are free.    

Freewill Christian Center held his first service on Sunday, March 7,1993. On Friday, March 19, 1993 Freewill Christian Center was officially commissioned and Reverend David O’Brion Ellis inducted as Pastor. Pastor David Ellis served as Pastor for 27 years until he was called home to his father on May 17, 2020. We thank God for the leadership and dedication which brought Freewill through 27 years!
